The reaping of the harvest is a magical time; it is the anticipation of the forthcoming damson jams and root veg roasts. Autumn is soup bubbling on the stove, and for many of us, it’s the time of year we adore the most, with aromas of delicious dishes wafting around kitchens from all corners of our county.

Thornby Moor Dairy Allerdale Goats Cheese, which is smoked over oak, if you love and adore cheese, Kendal Farmers Market has some of the best producers, all within a stroll’s reach.
If the week has been way too hard, you are beat, then you certainly will be in for a wonderful treat! Pop by Black Horse Flowers – wild, wispy and seasonal flowers that brighten up homes and hearts, a gentle reminder of the seasons ahead.
Our treasured market is a little gem and has something for everyone: even our four-legged friends – let them lead the way to Fell Dogs stall; it can only be described as a dog’s small corner of heaven, dog heaven!
Dare we say the word Christmas? Ho ho ho yourself around to Humble & Bumble, if it’s all about the tipple, then Pennington’s it is and for a little festive fizz – Provino – a real taste of Italy. Bellissimo!
